Sunday safari with Phil Christ of Maidenhead Paddleboard
I started from Wallingford pools the car park is free on a Sunday. I headed up Stream via Benson Lock and Days Lock. When I got to Clifton lock, I carried on up the main channel past Long Wittenham to the Weir before heading back. Round trip of 19 miles over about 6 hours.
Highlight of the trip included Clifton Hampton Bridge, the channels around Days Lock. Lots of willow trees and still remarkably few motor boats. Lots of kayakers and padfleboarders though
