About

This is our weekly paddle on the Wey Navigation for the Woking, Guilford and Godalming area.

This is for faster paddlers with their own touring board and able to handle longer distance. If you are looking to get into endurance racing or just improve your fitness, this paddle is for you!

You will need your own board, a leash (preferably a quick-release waist leash) and ideally a buoyancy aid. If you don’t have quick-release waist leash yet, then attach your leash to your buoyancy aid. We will decide where we shall go depending on the make-up of the group.

  • Participants must be 14 years old or above
  • Under 18 years must be accompanied by a participating adult
  • Be able to swim 30 meters
  • You will need a touring board for this paddle as this is a faster group and tend to go longer distances
  • No specialist clothing is required. In warm weather, ordinary gym gear will be fine (shorts/leggings/T-shirt/sweatshirt), with old sandals or trainers you don’t mind getting wet. Or you can get cheap neoprene wet shoes from most large supermarkets.
  • In colder weather, a wetsuit or drysuit would be advisory.
  • Always bring a towel and a change of clothes just in case you go in during the paddle boarding session.
  • A dry bag and phone case is a good idea.
  • Water, snack, hat and sunscreen if hot.
  • You need your own board, paddle, buoyancy aid and leash
