About

Join us for our annual Festive Fancy Dress SUP social on the River Wey Navigation, as we bring some cheer to the shoppers in Guildford town centre.

  • For competent paddlers who are able to self rescue.
  • A relaxed and sociable Festive Fancy Dress SUP Social. Planned, risk assessed and led by Paddle UK qualified Paddle Sport Leaders.
  • You’ll need your own paddle board, paddle, pump, QR waist leash and buoyancy aid.
  • Please wear quick drying clothing and bring a change of clothes and a towel.
  • Festive fancy dress is optional but fun!
  • A dry bag with shoulder straps would also be a good idea and footwear for the launch and possible lock portage.
  • Water or a flask of hot drink and snacks – we might stop for a drink in Guildford and will have mince pies and mulled wine at The Row Barge afterwards.
  • No specialist clothing is required. In warm weather, ordinary gym gear will be fine (shorts/leggings/T-shirt), with old trainers or water shoes that you don’t mind getting wet.
  • In colder weather, a wetsuit or drysuit would be advisory. Water/windproof layers and a hat and gloves are always a good idea too.

Parking
Please park respectfully in the local area. DO NOT PARK IN THE PUB CAR PARK – there is plenty of street parking available locally.

Toilets & Changing 
The Row Barge toilets are accessible through the pub IF IT IS OPEN – it would make them happy if you bought a beverage, by way of a thank you!
