Pink paddlers were out in force to raise awareness of Breast Cancer.

15 paddlers took to the Basingstoke Canal at Odiham for our 3rd annual paddle to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness.  There were some very bright outfits and lots of flowing wigs!

We all gathered at the start to introduce ourselves and talk about some personal journeys with this illness and what this paddle meant.

We descended on the water and paddled down towards Odiham Castle and stopped for a look around and a little snack. We turned the water pink with our wonderful outfits  and amused a lot of passers by who also very kindly offered to donate to this great cause.

After the visit we mounted our boards and continued down towards the Greywell Tunnel.  This has been closed since 1932 when part of it collapsed and it is now a bat sanctuary.  It was very weedy along this stretch which made it hard to paddle and we had to keep unclogging our fins but we made it to the end.

We raised £270 from our just giving page and a cup cake sale at the end of the paddle with thanks to Clare for her baking skills.  Our page is still open if you would like to make a donation just giving page
