Pyrford Lock, Wisley – The Anchor Pub
The Woking Base having the luxury of numerous waterways within the area, has a number of launch points. DPB has been paddling from Pyrford lock from it’s early days and it is great now to have it as a regular base. With paddle routes up and downstream through open fields, with an ancient Abbey one way or the Urban landscape under the M25 the other. There is free parking in The Anchor’s car park, as we will always end up in the pub for a warm or cool drink and something to eat.

St John’s Lye, Woking
This is one of our newer launch sites. Based on the Basingstoke Canal, it offers a country environment with only a few locks as you paddle upstream to Pirbright. There is plenty of parking in either at St John’s Lye, or the free car park in front of Rowlands Pharmacy. There is the Bem Cafe for tea’s and Coffee’s post paddle.

Frimley Lodge Park, Frimley
A favourite with the Base Commander for those hot summer days as the paddle is completely shaded, with some spots to float and relax and no locks! A countrified peaceful paddle out to Ash Aqueduct for those longer days, a great spot to view the annual Farnborough Airshow.
There is the Basingstoke Canal visitor Centre for snacks and cool drinks a short paddle from the launch spot. An easy launch site and plenty of free parking, on entering the site, take the right hand fork then the left hand fork for Car Park 2. When you see the miniature railway in front of you there is parking on the right hand side, and plenty of grass area to unpack the boards. There are showers and a Cafe available at the Parks Pavillion a short drive away.
