We are situated roughly half way between Oxford and London and have access to a fabulously long stretch of the Thames here. Our most frequented launch is at Boulters Lock heading upstream to Cliveden, Hedsor Waters onto Cookham or downstream to Bray and Windsor.
Dropping our boards in at Cookham gives us plenty of options around the lock and upstream passing Bourne End and Marlow with pubs along the way! For a long paddle downstream we can begin just below Henley and follow the flow to Maidenhead.
A real treat is paddling in and around the back streams of Oxford under bridges, past famous colleges and through endless corridor of trees, (go out early in the summer to dodge the punters). In Maidenhead we are responsible for the Paddlesports at the Sailing Club Lake with full access to a club house (showers and bar) and for £5 guest fee paddlers can join us and enjoy the facilities too, which are especially handy when river flow is fast. Friday night to Sunday Sunset we have lake SUP skills, sprints and training going on throughout the year (fees will apply) and access to the nearby Jubilee River which is super safe for young families as there are no motor boats.
Regular paddles during the summer months are run generally on Monday and Wednesday evenings from Boulters Lock. At about 5.45 – 6pm for an hour or so. Please contact us to let us know you are coming.
We are passionate about the range of paddling possibilities we offer here and in the warmer months enjoy many river adventures and create other fun activities; such as SUP Yoga and SUP Polo. We can also offer the British Canoe Paddleboard awards scheme and have extra boards to hire out if you have friends or family wanting to join paddles locally.
