Join us for a fun day out paddling on the upper reaches of the River Hamble from Fairthorne Manor to the Hidden Tap and Botley Falls before exploring Curbridge Creek and practicing our SUP skills, swimming and relaxing further down the Hamble.
Led and risk assessed by Qualified and insured Paddlesport Leaders. Suitable for all abilities.
- For competent paddlers who are able to self rescue and fit to paddle either kneeling or standing for up to 6 hours (with plenty of stops, and swims).
- A relaxed and sociable SUP Safari day out on the upper reaches of The River Hamble. Planned, risk assessed and led by Paddle UK qualified Paddle Sport Leaders.
- You’ll need your own paddle board, paddle, pump, QR waist leash and buoyancy aid. *Some equipment is available to hire – this needs to be pre-booked by emailing paddle@dpbclub.co or calling 07547917643 before booking onto this Safari.*
- Please wear quick drying clothing and bring a change of clothes and a towel.
- A dry bag would also be a good idea and footwear for the launch.
- Water and snacks – we’ll stop at The Hidden Tap for drinks during the paddle but you’ll need more drinks and snacks too.
- No specialist clothing is required. In warm weather, ordinary gym gear will be fine (shorts/leggings/T-shirt), with old trainers or water shoes that you don’t mind getting wet.
- In colder weather, a wetsuit or drysuit would be advisory. Water/windproof layers and a hat and gloves are always a good idea too.
