  • In colder weather, a wetsuit or drysuit would be advisory.
  • Always bring a towel and a change of clothes just in case you go in during the paddle boarding session.
  • A dry bag is a good idea, or you can put small items in the instructor’s dry bag.
  • Water, snack, hat and sunscreen if hot.

Our Paddle UK qualified coach will assess your current level of knowledge and ability before working with you on any individual goals you desire to develop your personal paddling skills. These sessions can cover anything from the very basics about equipment, safety and river etiquette and learning how to paddle (for complete beginners) to portaging, independent paddle planning, stroke techniques, turns, footwork, trimming, edging, risk assessing, towing and rescue techniques (for more experienced paddlers). All of this will be practiced on a beautiful stretch of the non-tidal River Thames near to Hampton Court Palace. You’ll have our instructor’s undivided attention for 90 minutes on and around the water to enable you to develop your knowledge, skills and techniques quickly and you can choose the content of your session depending on your level of experience and desired outcomes. There’s absolutely no pressure to stand or self-rescue if you don’t want to! The aim is to relax, have fun, learn and explore safely.
